Helping You Find the Right Contact Lenses
Contact lenses are more than a convenient alternative to glasses—they’re an important part of your vision and lifestyle. Whether you’re new to contact lenses or need a new prescription or fit, we provide thorough contact lens exams and fittings to keep your eyes comfortable and your vision at its best.
We also offer specialty contact lens options like scleral lenses if issues like dry eye and keratoconus have prevented you from comfortably wearing lenses.
Your comfort and safety are always our priority. Contact us to schedule an appointment and find the right contact lenses for your needs.
Request AppointmentComprehensive Contact Lens Exams
A contact lens exam is an essential part of your eye care routine. During your visit, we’ll assess your eye health, review your vision needs, and check that your eyes are well-suited for contact lenses.
Before prescribing your contact lenses, our team walks you through a fitting. During your fitting, we perform various measurements to find the right lens type and fit for you. We also teach you how to insert, remove, and care for your contacts.

Getting the Right Fit for Your Unique Eyes with OCT
Your contact lenses should provide clear, comfortable vision. For some patients—especially those wearing scleral or ortho-k lenses—the unique shape of their cornea (the front surface of the eye) requires highly precise measurements for the best fit.
Using the Topcon Maestro 2 optical coherence tomography (OCT), we capture detailed images of your eye’s shape, allowing us to customize your lenses for better comfort and clarity.
OCT also helps us assess your retinal health, detecting early signs of eye disease before symptoms appear. Our goal is to support your long-term vision and comfort with advanced, personalized care.
Our Specialty Contact Lens Options
At Eye Care Algoma, we offer various specialty contact lenses to address a wide range of vision concerns. Whether you need aspheric lenses for sharper vision, multifocal lenses for seamless near and far vision, or toric lenses for astigmatism correction, we have options for you.
We also offer specialty lenses, such as scleral contacts for keratoconus and ortho-k lenses for kids’ myopia control. Ask our team about the different contact lens options we offer!
Scleral Contact Lenses
Scleral lenses provide a unique solution for patients with irregular corneas, keratoconus, or severe dry eye.
Unlike traditional contacts, these large-diameter lenses rest on the sclera (the white of your eye), creating a smooth optical surface that offers vision clarity and comfort.
The fluid-filled reservoir beneath the lens also hydrates your eyes, making scleral lenses ideal for those seeking relief from dryness or discomfort.
Ortho-K Contact Lenses
Ortho-k, or orthokeratology, lenses work while your kids sleep to gently reshape their corneas. This non-surgical vision correction method provides clear vision throughout the day without the need for glasses or contacts.
Ortho-k lenses are great for children with progressive myopia and are a safe and effective way for them to enjoy sharp eyesight and manage their long-term eye health.
Aspheric Contact Lenses
Aspheric contact lenses help reduce visual distortions and provide sharper, clearer vision, especially in low light. Their modern design improves focus and clarity for those needing precise correction.
Multifocal Lenses
Multifocal contact lenses are an excellent choice for patients with presbyopia. They allow you to see clearly at all distances—near, far, and in between. These lenses are ideal for maintaining an active lifestyle without the need for multiple pairs of glasses.
Whether you’re reading a book, working on a computer, or enjoying outdoor activities, multifocal lenses provide seamless, convenient vision correction.
Toric Contact Lenses
Toric contact lenses are specifically engineered to correct astigmatism, offering stable and clear vision by aligning precisely with the unique shape of your eyes. With modern design features that prevent rotation, these lenses provide sharp focus and consistent comfort throughout the day. Toric lenses are the perfect choice for those seeking clarity without compromise.
